Pearly Penile Papules removal forever


Pearly penile papules also termed as hirsutoid papillomas are common penis lesions of no clinical significance, which are found in about 15 to 20% of men. They are considered to be embryological remainings of well-developed organs in other mammals. They also have to be distinguished from the preputial glands.

Pearly penile papules, usually have size1-3 mm in diameter, appears in the form of yellow papules on corona of penile area. The individual lesions are dome like structures and are usually located in a row. Histologically, they show the epithelial thickening of the fibrovascular covering such as angiofibroma and the absence of glandular elements.

Pearly penile papules are small outgrowths looked like dome shaped and are skin colored. These outgrowths appear on sulcus or corona part of penis. They appear in the form of circles around the penis. Some people consider it congenital but it is not actually congenital but appear late in life most commonly in 2nd or 3rd decade of age. It is not transmitted sexually and it is a normal appearance not a pathological condition. Pearly penile papules has nothing to do with sexual activity because it does not cause any harm or any other problem (like infection) to partner.

Sometimes men get nervous and anxious on small lesions but there is not any problem because these pearly penile papules are benign in nature. It most commonly occur in uncircumcised males. When males with pearly penile papules undergo circumcision later in life, regression of these papules is seen with this. With the passing age or increasing age frequency, these pearly penile papules become small and nearly diminish. These papules appear in males because of its anatomical distribution in body. Pearly penile papules are asymptomatic and stay throughout life without causing any problem and without spreading with normal sex life.

Pearly Penile Papules Symptoms

Pearly penile papules are asymptomatic and are normal outgrowth on sulcus of penis. They are not malignant by nature but are benign. Pearly penile papules are not contagious and are not painful. They have smooth surface, have an appearance like bumps or threads. They have a diameter of 1 to 4 mm. They appear in the form of circles and may be in one or several rows. They are completely harmless. These papules do not interfere in sex life of patient. They do not have colors but are of natural skin color. All the symptoms mentioned above are main apparent symptoms of pearly penile papules.

Pearly Penile Papules Causes

Pearly penile papules do not have a proper mechanism behind it. So etiology and pathology of pearly penile papule is not defined. Some people thought it is sexually transmitted through sexual intercourse and due to poor hygiene but it is not true. This condition do not have any outside cause behind its appearance. It neither caused due to any infection nor due to sexual intercourse. Some scientists stated that pearly penile papule are formed from the left overs remained during embryonic development in mother’s womb. These papules are normal with human physiology.

Pearly Penile Papules Treatment

As occurrence of pearly penile papules is not a pathological condition so no treatment is required. But proper diagnosis is required. These papules may be differentially diagnosed with viral warts. These papules do not cause harm to male genitals and has nothing to do with sexual intercourse. It do not spread and are not painful at all. So most of the patients do not touch it for treatment. If these bump appearance cause pain or any other problem then biopsy should be performed to check disease and treatment is recommended according to it.
